Wimbledon Final 2023: Novak Djokovic Vs Carlos Alcaraz Preview
The dream Wimbledon final was as thrilling as everybody expected it and did not disappoint a bit. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in Wimbledon 2023 final on Sunday in 5 entertaining sets, 6-1, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Wimbledon Final 2023: Novak Djokovic Road To Final
Round 1: Djokovic began the grass-court Major with a 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(4) victory against Pedro Cachin
Round 2: He defeated Jordan Thompson 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-5.
Round 3: Here he defeated the three times grand slam champion Stan Wawrinka 6-3, 6-1, 7-6(5).
Round 4: This Round tested Novak Djokovic as he faced Hubert Hurkacz who gave serb quite some challenge but eventually Djokovic prevailed in four sets 7-6(6), 7-6(6), 5-7, 6-4 to get to the quarterfinals.
Quarter Final: The Serb rallied from a set down to defeat seventh seed Andrey Rublev 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 and advance to the semifinals.
Semi Final: In semis, Novak faced the eight seed Jannik Sinner. He took control of the match after winning the first two sets 6-3, 6-4. In the third set, the Italian fought hard and had a set point. However, Djokovic saved it and forced a tie-break, which he won 7-4 to secure his place in the final.
Wimbledon Final 2023: Carlos Alcaraz Road To Glory
Round 1: Carlos began the grass-court Major with a 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 victory against Jeremy Chardy
Round 2: He defeated Alexandre Muller, 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-3, to reach the third round.
Round 3: Here, the Spaniard beat 25th seed Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3, 7-5 to set up a fourth-round clash against Matteo Berrettini.
Round 4: Here, he came back from a set down to defeat the Italian 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 and reach the quarterfinals.
Quarter Final: Alcaraz faced sixth seed Holger Rune which was the toughest challenge for Carlos in the tournament so far but he came over to beat him 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-4 to book his place in the semifinals
Semi Final: In semis, he faced third seed Daniil Medvedev and registered a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 win to reach his first Wimbledon final.
Final: He Defeated Novak Djokovic in 5 thrilling sets to become the Wimbledon 2023 champion. This is his first title at Wimbledon and I am sure not the last one.
